Mark Corsmeier, Troop 500, Scoutmaster

Mark Joined Cub Scouts with Pack 500 and was a Tiger Cub Den Leader when his son was in the first grade. He then became the Cub Master of Pack 500 for the next 3 years. Mark spent a lot of time conducting leader meetings every month as well as the yearly planning meeting. He also planned at a minimum of 3 summertime activities each year, one camping outing, and several derby events as well. In his last year with Pack 500, he held the Pack Trainer position on the committee. While Mark was heavily involved in the Pack, he took a lot of training classes, including CubMaster Specific, BALOO, New Leader Essentials, What is Scouting, etc.

Mark and his son Jared both joined the Boy Scouts with Troop 500 in March 2010 when Jared crossed over. Mark is currently active in Hopewell District serving as the Cub Scouts Activity Chair. Mark has completed all the necessary training for the ScoutMaster / Assistant ScoutMaster positions.

Mark is no stranger to the Scouting program or to the Dan Beard Council. When Mark was a youth, he joined Pack 845 in Florence, KY. He was very active in Cub Scouts since the 2nd grade. He eventually went on and earned his Arrow of Light. There he went into Boy Scouts until he was eighteen. While in Boy Scouts, Mark earned his Eagle Scout Rank, his AD ALTARE DEI and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. Mark learned a lot of great skills and leadership qualities that he wishes to pass on to all the boy youth in the United States. After high school, Mark attended Northern Kentucky University for 3 years earning his Bachelor of Arts in Physics. He then moved to Lexington and attended the University of Kentucky and earning his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Mark is an active member of St. Susanna. Mark currently works for Intelligrated in Mason, serving the position of Senior Electrical Engineer for the past 8 years. He is following a family legacy of scouting leadership in the scouting program. His father served many roles in both troop and district positions. Mark’s father was a ScoutMaster, Assistant ScoutMaster for 9 years. He then went in the District level where he earned the Silver Beaver Award and held a position of District Commissioner and District Chairman.
